The Shlenker School Library serves as a valuable resource to your child’s learning experience. Children of all ages, as well as parents, can be found during the day in the library either browsing the shelves, reading to their child, or using one of several computers. It remains a focal point of learning for our students. While inadequate school libraries have made the news lately, the Schachtel Library continues to flourish with the newest of quality literature and many on-line data base services. Our collection holds close to 20,000 volumes as well as an excellent Judaica library that serves the congregation and others in the community.
A large part of the library’s function is to support the curriculum of the school by providing our teachers with the best materials possible. The students use the library for research as well as scheduled library classes. The instructional program is integrated into the curriculum as much as possible. Data bases such as Grolier and Encyclopedia Brittanica can be accessed at home as well as school.
Feel free to stop by and see our ever changing collection of book and resource materials. Check-out privileges are available to students, parents, and congregants.
